Rising with Kindness - Women Strong
Only a few days ago, I went through a heartbreaking experience; one marked by such deep disrespect that it landed me in the ICU.
As my loved ones said, it was scary. Can’t say I was fully aware but I am incredibly grateful for the super fast recovery and incredible team of doctors and nurses who saved my life.
As I lay there healing, I wasn’t just tending to my physical recovery, but also to a pain that cuts deeper. The pain of being torn down, not just by a broken system, but sometimes by other women. I could not believe that a woman can treat another woman the way I was treated. But, it is not unknown either.
That realization stayed with me.
Why is it that we, who know struggle so intimately, sometimes become the ones to inflict it on each other?
We must change this.
We must choose to uplift, to support, and to stand beside each other.
Because we are stronger and we must remain strong, together.
Ones who operate with a narrow view and toxic mindset will often assume the worst in others, or any given situation.
It is how they’ve built their world.
They cannot imagine any different.
They project how they operate.
But we do not have to be trapped in their toxic world.
Especially as women, we don’t need to play by their twisted, patriarchal and archaic rules that divide and discriminate against any people. We are not here to mirror the bitterness but to lead with clarity, kindness, courage and unwavering integrity.
Let those who thrive on division be exposed by their own noise.
We choose strength.
We choose boldness.
We choose empathy.
We choose to stand tall for love.
We choose lifting people up.
We choose justice.
We choose truth.
And that is how we lead our life with courage, resilience and decision to lead with the power of knowing and doing better.
We are not here to indulge in misinformation and accusation battles.
We are here to rise together with love, kindness and truth.
We are Women Strong!
And something good came out of this tribulation too.
I found clarity on three things Women Strong as a campaign with do. Today, I am announcing one of them.
I am launching a new video series called Women Strong: a space where I will invite inspiring women from all walks of life to share their voices, journeys, and wisdom.
It will be a unique show centered on truth, strength, and solidarity. but allow me a little while before I share more.
I can’t wait to build this platform with many incredible women I have come to love and respect – and I intend to use my platform to celebrate who we are and what we can become; together.
Update: At the time of publishing this article, a C-Suite Executive of the body has tendered his deepest apologies and assured that the wrong-doers will be disciplined, while also guaranteed I am welcome, safe and recognized for my service to the community for 35+ Years. To that end, I have now left it on him to hold the responsible people accountable. I will trust his word and wait for justice.
